Last weekend, Rev Stephen Sizer, the Anglican vicar known for his strict anti-Israeli position, attended an anti-Israeli session with Ismail Patel, an Islamist for whom even Disney is a Jewish plot. Last July, a group of 22 prominent Anglican evangelicals held a confidential meeting to discuss ‘the grace approach to Islam’. While the hard left, with its anti-Israeli policies, has traditionally supported radical Muslims, the alliance between Islamists and some evangelicals is a recent development, which indicates a widening gap between Zionist Christians who lend support to Israel, and those who assist Islamists in their fight against Israel.
